This Sunday, Wembley Stadium will host the final of the Carling Cup between Chelsea Football Club and Totenham Hotspurs. Both English Premiere League Club is London based and interestingly both club is under new manager reign. With Avram Grant for Chelsea replacing ‘The Special One’, Jose Mourinho and Juande Ramos in Totenham taking the job from Martin Jol. This will make the final more intense as not only the players but managers also in need of winning their own first silverware.
Since coming, Juande Ramos has succesfully transformed the mentality of Totenham players. Players like Jermaine Jenas and Tom Huddlestone are starting to show what their abilities capable of. Paul Robinson, the undroppable goalkeeper during Martin Jol has never played a game since Ramos arrival. Even though the early expectation the club to qualify for Champions League this season seems unreachable at the moment, most Spurs fans will gladly happy to win their first silverware after 10 years if they win in Wembley this Sunday.
This Sunday, with the fantastic atsmosphere in Wembley, it will be very important for both manager to remind their players to play their usual game, not to get nervous and outcold on the field. Both club was involved in Europe game this midweek and both club similarly played terrible football. For Totenham player, it understandable that their mind already thinking about this Sunday even. I can safely say that this Carling Cup Final is the first time oppurtunity for most of Totenham players to showcase their ability in Wembley Stadium.
Chelsea is the favourite for this match. With Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and John Terry returning from injury, it is hard to see how Totenham could win this game. However as a football fan, we must remember that Final Cup match usually bring the unexpected.
My prediction for this game is Totenham win by 3-2. How about yours?
