Liverpool Football Club, under the guidance of Rafael Benitez, has beaten Inter Milan at Anfield with 2-0 score. Liverpool goals are by Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard. Inter Milan played only with 10 men for 60 minutes after Materazzi(the one who got headbutted by Zidane) was sent off after receiving 2 yellow cards. Materazzi commited both fouls against the new Liverpool striker, Fernando Torres who had his first debut on Champions League knock out stage.

Benitez showed to the other Europe club manager that he is the master mind when it comes to Champions League matches. Liverpool dominated the game from the beginning by using Steven Gerrard as a free role behind Fernando Torres with Torres making some superb run through Inter Milan defenders.

Fresh from being beaten by Barnsley three days ago, Benitez restored Gerrard, Torres, Reina and Maschenaro to Liverpool starting lineup against Inter Milan. Dirk Kuyt played on the right wing, Babel on the left side while Mascherano and Lucas provided the defensive cover for Gerrard to freely burst forward(which he do the best).

The Reds fan were almost going home disappointedly when Dirk Kuyt fired an opener for Liverpool on the 85 minute. Steven Gerrard then gave his club a tremendous advantage by firing a wonderful 25 yard screamer from outside the penalty box. With 2 goals advantage, Liverpool is likely to advance into quarter final stage of Champions League.
